Proverbs 1:Wisdom's Call (15)

All these posts on Proverbs and wisdom would not be complete without going back to the center of all theology. Christ is our center. All things are created through him, as Colossians 1 states:
16For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities--all things were created through him and for him.
And it is Christ who is the final revelation.

Hebrews 1:
1Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, 2but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.
So we cannot read Proverbs 1 (or any part of Scripture for that matter) properly without seeing Christ at the center, the focus.

And indeed we have Christ clearly, for ultimately it is Christ who speaks to us as our personified Wisdom.

1 Corinthians 1:24 states that "Christ [is] the power of God and the wisdom of God."

John 1 begins "In the beginning was the Word" and the word translated "word" (logos), could just as easily be translated "Wisdom," "Logic," "Reason," or (as Erasmus tried) "Discourse."

Of course, there is the big issue that Wisdom is personified as a woman.

But whatever the case, it is through Christ that this Wisdom flows. And it is to Christ that this wisdom directs us to.

Seek Wisdom. Seek Christ.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
